The Legendary Building Series from Legacy Building Solutions combines the proven integrity of structural steel beams with lightweight polyurethane fabric roofs (other PVC fabrics available) for increased natural lighting and flexibility in construction.
“Even on a cloudy day the buildings are naturally bright,” says Ben Fox, president, Legacy Building Solutions. “The buildings also feel much larger than they are. The other advantage is it’s a noncorrosive material. If you have a salt storage building and sheet it with steel, the steel will last maybe five years before it decomposes,” Fox says. “With fabric, it’s not affected.”
Fabric roofs also provide added warmth, offer good overall sound quality, hold up well in all types of weather and can be insulated to meet energy needs. “The most harmful thing to fabric is UV rays,” Fox says. A UV protectant helps ensure long life.
Legacy’s structural coating options include red oxide primer, powder coat paint and hot-dip galvanizing. It also won’t rust from the inside out like some materials.
“Another feature is structural steel allows us to use conventional siding and conventional materials anywhere within the structure,” Fox says. The added flexibility in construction allows for any size or shape of building.
Side choices include low-cost fabric, paneling for locks or steel for added security. The straight sidewall design enables the building to include overhead doors, exit doors and dormers along the sides.
Buildings also can be engineered for wide door loads and to handle additional conveyors, sprinklers and sidewall pressure.
Used primarily for commodity and equipment storage, buildings can be dismantled for reconstruction at the next job site. Smaller buildings can be relocated by towing or crane lifted. This is not possible with heavier all-steel buildings, Fox says.
Legacy designs, engineers and manufactures all of its buildings. The company also has in-house construction crews for full service installation. 877/259-1528; www.legacybuildingsolutions.com.
