Kobelco expands field service team

Kobelco Construction Machinery USA hired Ernest Alvarado to support its field service team. He will be responsible for providing the company’s dealer network with product service and training on its line of excavators.

Pump Solutions Group acquires Finder

Pump Solutions Group, an operating company within Dover Corp., acquired Finder S.p.A., designer and manufacturer of API engineered pumps, primarily for the oil and gas market. Finder has operations in Merate and Querceta, Italy, and Venissieux, France, as well as representatives in 75 countries. Finder will operate as a business unit within PSG and expects to generate revenue of approximately $80 million in 2013.

Thomas & Betts publishes electrical brochure

Thomas & Betts published a series of electrical solution brochures, including versions available at www.tnb.com under the resources tab, in response to electrical power and service needs. The Solution Set brochures address corrosion prevention, safety, grounding and bonding.

Layne Christensen relocates headquarters, elects boardmember

Layne Christensen has moved to its new corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, a suburb of Houston. John T. Nesser III was elected to the Layne Christensen Board of Directors. He fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Jeffrey J. Reynolds in June. Retired from McDermott International, Nesser has 40 years of executive, corporate and legal experience.

Trelleborg acquires cryogenic technology

Trelleborg’s Industrial Solutions business area acquired SBM Offshore’s cryogenic hose system technology. The acquisition will enable the company to accelerate and strengthen its equipment offerings for the floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) market.

Flowserve expands quick response center

Flowserve Corp. opened its new and expanded quick response center in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. The 15,000-square-foot “green” center is approximately three times larger than the previous facility. The new center has 8-ton lifting capacity and features a geothermal system, including underground heating throughout the office, workshop and yard, as well as solar heating and rainwater recovery.

Itron named top water meter supplier

Itron was ranked No. 1 across multiple categories in a new global water meter market analysis report. The IMS Research report, an annual assessment of global water meter sales, notes that Itron has the leading global position for total water meter and communication module shipments. Itron also ranks as a top supplier across a number of smart water metering categories in Latin America, EMEA and North America.

Jack Doheny merges with Jet-Vac

Jack Doheny Companies completed its merger with business affiliate Jet-Vac in Wharton, N.J. The merger provides financial and managerial support, enabling the company to be more responsive to customers in the Northeast. Ty Rose was named general manager for the 15,000-square-foot, eight-bay Wharton facility. Groundbreaking on a project that will double the size of the service center and triple the size of its parts department is scheduled for spring. JDC has sold sewer cleaning, DOT-certified vacuum trucks, pipeline inspection and other related equipment since 1972.

Abakan enters Mexican, Central American markets

Abakan signed a sales agreement with Metallurgic Solutions to distribute MesoCoat products in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. MetalSol also will assist MesoCoat in establishing production and service operations in Mexico for its PComP long-life metal coatings and CermaClad clad steel and products.

Martin Engineering acquires TNJ Industries

Martin Engineering acquired TNJ Industries, an Arizona-based company specializing in dust management for crushing and conveying of mined materials. The acquisition broadens Martin’s line of dust control products.
