Among the many people I met last week at the 31st annual Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo International were contractors who find that the gas, oil and mining industries are playing a bigger role in revenue growth in recent months and years. Portable sanitation and wastewater handling companies turned out at the Kentucky Exposition Center to check out the latest portable restrooms and restroom trailers, as well as vacuum trucks designed to move a lot of water to and from worksites.
Some of these contractors have turned their attention away from the challenging construction industry and toward oil and natural gas worksites, pipelines and refineries. They say they enjoy working in industries that seem primed for significant expansion.
GOMC contractors also took the opportunity to learn more about hauling wastewater, business best practices and marketing essential services during a full day of Education Day seminars. If you made this your first Expo experience, congratulations for joining the Pumper & Cleaner extended family. If you missed the Expo, start making plans to attend next year, when the event is held Feb. 27-March 1 in Indianapolis.
